Cancer also called malignancy is characterized by an abnormal growth of cells. There are more than 100 types of cancer, which includes skin cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, and lymphoma. Cancer symptoms vary depending upon the type of cancer. Cancer has the ability to spread throughout the body. It is the second leading cause of death in the United States. However, the survival rates are improving for many of the types of cancer.
